Hey you wonderful folks!!
I wanted to share my story about Nooka (Nanook) and his siblings! We bought our first fert at Petco.........(forgive us, we didn't know what we were doing!) and fell in love with BoBo. He won us over & easily joined the family. SoSuMe ("the queen mum!"), his 19 year old Siamese cat sister, thought he was very weird and wanted nothing to do with him. Of course, he didn't care ONE BIT! ...play...sleep...eat...play...
It was then I learned of Megan and the Shelter. I would come and visit, ask questions, and visit with the fuzzies. One afternoon I brought my husband with me.....just to LOOK!! While we were there someone walked in with two babies they were releasing. My husband took one look at Nanook (renamed Nooka!) and didn't even want him to be processed by the Shelter.....NOPE.....Nooka was coming home with us! We got a sweet, gentle, easy going boy with BoBo, and (silly us) we thought they were ALL like that! Nooka proved us WAY WRONG!!! He is a burly, stinky, butt sniffing boy!! He is very dramatic and started out a little rough with his new brother. He is also deaf. Even so, they soon became fast friends.
About two weeks after Nooka came into our lives, I stopped at the Humane Society (for some reason other that to come home with another kitty!!!), but you know where this story is going.......brought home the cutest black kitty. The family was getting larger.... Magik was a little freaked out by these little wiggly creatures at first, but she got used to them and loves to share play time with them now.
Now that was IT......no more FERTS!!!!! hee hee. Our little girl came to us just 5 or so months ago after we went into Petco - just to get food - when we were approached by the manager as we were looking at the fuzzies in the store. The rest is history, because we just had to take home the little girl he showed us in the back room. Bailey's owner had committed suicide and left the sweetpea in the apartment! We took her home that day, and she is started out to be a little terror!! She has grown up quite a bit and loves her big brothers very very much now!!
I cannot thank the Shelter (Megan especially!) for all their help with questions about the new creature, we knew NOTHING about! We do now, and love them to death!! We are hooked!! Keep up the good work!
