Although a bit skeptical, we decided to get a playmate for our young ferrret last December from your shelter. Skeptical, you may wonder? Skeptical because I, the mother, would have another pet to take care, another pet for the kids and my husband to quickly grow tired of. Would our hyper young ferret even want a playmate and would the new member of the family even like our hyper Weasel? Well, we brought Weasel to your shelter and she (okay, first off, we thought she was a he) was quickly introduced to RUFUS. He was twice as big and 10 times as laid back. They sniffed each other and followed each other around. You said it was a good match so we said okay. The first few days she slept in her bed, he slept in his. What was to follow, we could not have imagined. They are inseparable. They sleep together - whether it's in the bed, sling, bottom of cage, whatever. They race around the house, slide on the hardwood floors. She has a thing for socks, he has a thing for the pantry. We have a chair that has a hole in the bottom and together, they hide things up underneath it. To date, we have found well over 100 socks and several snacks (fruit snack packages, handisnacks, cookies, you name, it's up there); truly something to be seen. So, needless to say, coming to your shelter that cold, rainy day in December was the best thing we could have done for our family.
So, THANK YOU - David, Robyn, Christian, Zak, Weasel & Rufus
